Meaning and Motion is a motion graphics project exploring the work and design philosophy of architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Through a short animated piece, I translated key themes from his body of work into a visual narrative, using motion to communicate the clarity, structure, and simplicity that define his architecture.

My process began with research into Mies's life, projects, and design principles to better understand the ideas that shaped his work. From there, I developed a storyboard to establish the pacing and flow of the animation before creating all graphic elements from scratch in Adobe Illustrator. Although inspired by Mies's architecture, every visual was designed and illustrated specifically for this project. Once the graphics were complete, I brought them into After Effects, where I used motion to emphasize form, rhythm, and composition. The final piece combines research, illustration, and animation to create a contemporary interpretation of Mies van der Rohe's enduring influence on design.
